a la Mode Hat Knitting Pattern

The a la Mode Hat pattern coordinates with the a la Mode Cowl with cables on a reverse stockinette background. Pattern instructions include helpful tips and cabling video links

Materials: 

Yarn: 


• Fingering weight option (held double): approx. 437 yds/100g
          OR        
  DK weight option: approx. 218 yds/100 grams

 It is recommended to knit this hat with fingering weight held double. Simply pull from both ends of the yarn cake at the same time! You will only need one 100 gram skein of fingering weight yarn.

Needles:

• US 6 (4 mm) 16” (41 cm) circular needles AND set of 5 DPNs 
  OR
• US 6 (4.0 mm) long circular needles for magic loop 

Extras:

• beginning of round marker
• 2 additional st markers for DK weight pattern (optional)
• cable needle
• tapestry needle

Gauge:

• 10 sts per 2" in pattern

Finished Flat measurement, unstretched: 9” (23 cm) wide at brim and 
9” (23 cm) tall

Fit: One size fits most head circumferences 18”+ (45-46 cm)
